Overview

A recent housing market analysis compiled by the JMU Center for Community Development revealed that there is a severe housing affordability crisis looming for our region. Everyone engaged in the current market is painfully aware that we are already in the pangs of a severe housing availability crisis. No doubt this is somewhat in line with national trends; however, could there be any local efforts that might change the trajectory of this problem and ease the log jam to allow continued economic growth for the area?

A collaboration of the Realtors and Builders, the Forum is designed to bring together thought leaders and key components of the housing industry to hear how other communities are grappling with the issue and dialogue with colleagues on what opportunities there may be to alleviate this challenge we are facing. Realtors and Builders will be joined by Lenders, City and County Government Officials and other related industry components to hear Housing Virginia Executive Director Bob Adams and participate in round table discussions.
