Overview

The Hampton Roads Adaptation Forum is a joint offering of the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission, Old Dominion University, and Virginia Sea Grant. The goal of the forum is to provide a regular series of meetings and seminars for local government staff, university researchers, state and federal agency representatives, NGOs, and private sector experts to discuss topics related to sea level rise adaptation. Forum meetings have been held quarterly since fall 2012.

This forum is focused on adaptation policy. It will include presentations on policy making, options for policies related to rebuilding after flood events, financing options, and adaptation strategies. It will also include a panel of local government staff representatives discussing how they are addressing adaptation in their local plans and policies.
