Certification Maintenance
Certification Maintenance
Certification Maintenance (CM) gives the AICP credential lasting value and meaning. As a certified planner, when you invest in yourself through professional development, you not only maintain your AICP certification but also make a greater impact in your work. By keeping your skills and knowledge of planning practices and trends current, you’re more equipped to respond to the challenges our communities may face. AICP members must earn a total of 32 credits each two-year reporting period under AICP's Certification Maintenance (CM) program.
APA Virginia strives to continuously offer new and relevant CM credit opportunities to planners. Information on upcoming opportunities including the Annual Conference, Symposiums, and Section events is available in regular emails to Chapter members and on this website. On-demand CM credit opportunities are also available on this website under Recorded Webinars and the Mid-Atlantic Planning Collaboration. Additionally, the Virginia Chapter has partnered with other APA chapters throughout the United States to offer free weekly webcasts that can be accessed directly..
Other CM credit opportunities can be found on the American Planning Association website.
