Shenandoah Valley Section
The Shenandoah Valley Section is one of nine subdivisions of the APA Virginia Chapter. This section is an active group of approximately 40 professional planners who either live or work in the Shenandoah Valley. Our members have careers in the public sector and in private practices. There is a vast array of skillsets and specializations in this section. This diverse collection of professionals can take advantage of the several events and networking opportunities provided by this section. Shenandoah Valley draws together all of these members to provide training, foster relationships and raise the stature of planning as a profession and practice in our localities.

Details
The Shenandoah Valley Section includes 33 localities, including counties, cities and towns. In terms of area, it spans approximately 3,523 square miles, running north/south along the valley. This section is relatively small, by landmass, out of the nine established by APA Virginia. The total population is also relatively small, with 465,882 people who call this area home. Though this region lacks size, the natural beauty, quality of life and sense of community make the Shenandoah Valley a great place to live and work.
