Purpose Statement
Advocate, support, and educate all Virginians about the many benefits planning offers to effectively address the physical, economic, and social challenges in our diverse Commonwealth to bring about an equitable future.
Strategic Objectives
A. Help Planners Plan:
Advance the art and science of planning by providing opportunities for professional and citizen planners alike to grow their knowledge and skills in building strong communities and improving the quality of life for all Virginians.
B. Help Virginia Plan:
Advocate sound planning and decision‐making in Virginia.
C. Make Planning and Planners Matter:
Promote the value and enhance the credibility of planners among elected and appointed officials, the public, and related professions.
D. Promote Respect, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion:
Support, sustain and nurture respect, equity, diversity and inclusion in planning activities to best serve our communities.
E. Get Planners Involved:
Engage all facets of our membership in Chapter activities and leadership development.
F. Be a Leader in APA:
Further the mission, values, goals, and objectives of APA through Chapter leadership, participation, and activities.
G. Commit to Organizational Excellence:
Provide transparency and accountability to members together with efficient and effective Chapter administration.
